Eyelid Conditions

The eyelids protect the eye and keep its surface healthy. When they become lumpy, droopy, turned in or turned out, they can affect both comfort and vision. Our oculoplastic specialist assesses and treats the full range of eyelid problems.

Common eyelid conditions

We diagnose and treat conditions affecting the eyelids, including:

  • Chalazion and styes (lumps and blocked glands)
  • Ptosis (drooping upper eyelid)
  • Ectropion (the eyelid turning outwards)
  • Entropion (the eyelid turning inwards, with lashes rubbing the eye)
  • Eyelid skin lesions, cysts and growths
  • Tear duct problems and watery eyes

Treatment

Treatment ranges from simple in-clinic procedures to oculoplastic surgery, usually performed under local anaesthetic. Where a lesion is removed, it can be sent for testing to confirm it is not a concern.

Dr Yi Wei Goh subspecialises in oculoplastics and will recommend the most appropriate option for your eyelids and your comfort.
